Kick off your heelsKick Off Your Heels Women's Day

The Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will host the 7th annual Kick Off Your Heels event Tuesday, October 31 at the Hill, the tournament's main hospitality attraction overlooking the finishing holes.

During the event, guests will enjoy exceptional views of TPC Summerlin from The Hill – a luxurious 10,000 square-foot entertainment pavilion overlooking the 16th, 17th and 18th holes – and have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items with proceeds directly benefitting the patients of Shriners Hospitals for Children nationwide. Attendees will also enjoy a special meal prepared by Andiron Steak and Sea.

Hosted by KLAS-TV (CBS) 8 News Now anchor, Denise Valdez, the Kick Off Your Heels luncheon will welcome Patricia Mulroy, former general manager of Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), as the keynote speaker. Mulroy served as general manager of the SNWA from 1993 until retiring in February 2014. As general manager of one of the most progressive water agencies in the country, Mulroy was very active in regional and national water issues and facilitated numerous agreements with her neighbors on the Colorado River, including international negotiations with Mexico.

Mulroy has been a resident of southern Nevada for more than three decades and currently chairs the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Sciences Advisory Board and serves as treasurer of the Water Research Foundation Board of Trustees. Additionally, Mulroy is on the board of the National Water Resources Association and is a member of the American Water Works Association.

Sponsors supporting this year’s luncheon include Desert Radiologists, Howard Hughes, Dillard’s and Anthem Blue Cross Shield. The Kick Off Your Heels planning committee is made up of local Las Vegas women including Tanya Murray, Dulcinea Rongavilla, Jen Merchant, Priscilla Drozd and Terri Maruca.

Tables for the Kick Off Your Heels Luncheon are available for purchase by contacting Corinne Spitzer at cspitzer@shrinershospitalsopen.com. Early reservations are encouraged as space is limited.

The event is coordinated by and held for many of the best known and most highly respected women in the city of Las Vegas. Three hundred and fifty women take seats at this prestigious event, benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Every woman knows about swollen feet after attending an event in high heels. That's why at the golf course we have made this unique fundraising event heel-free. Women are encouraged to wear their favorite flats and relax and enjoy the casual and scenic beauty of TPC Summerlin.
